Some production notes:

Ceph started out as an idea for an epic science fiction story set in the near future. I've been working on the details for five years now, but decided I needed to take on a smaller project and get some practice and experience first. So I took the Ceph character and set it a few billion years in the future, thinking I could work out flaws in the consistency and it would have little bearing on the original idea. It was merely experimental and I never intended to take this project seriously. Since then it's evolved into something more.

This first chapter is sort of a prologue. The art is rough and the format's even rougher. I didn't really know where I was going with this when I first started out. The style isn't consistent yet because at this point it wasn't meant to be. I was still trying to develop and didn't want to commit myself to any one format or style. It manages to set the scene adequately, but I intend to rework the entire beginning at some point with my more mature style.

...and one of the main reasons for re-doing it is, If I ever try to get this published, NASA would not be very happy with me.
