Production Notes:

From here on my work starts improving in leaps and bounds. It still boggles me! I find every page is better than the last until I finally reach a consistent style again. (the exception is a few filler strips I did in this period.)

The first thing I did was start using a decent font for my lettering and changed the page format to the more standard 2/3 ratio. I've found both more consistent and much easier to work with.

The biggest improvements are with the art. The colouring in particular. I started developing a softer look that has become more and more absent of line. One thing I noticed is, drawing the blue skinned characters is a lot more difficult to pull off in a more realistic style. Because they don't have natural fleshtones, I had to be a lot more careful with the shading to make them look natural. After this experience, my colouring greatly improved.

I also started playing around with other cg tools. I started drawing the robots (which looked quite messy in the beginning) with drafting tools, which led to vector lines, and eventually built pose-able 3D models. So I still get to experiment with my work, but it no longer looks experimental. Which is as it should be.
